Junior Achievement volunteers are passionate people inspiring kids to learn the economics of life through free enterprise education. JA enables caring adults to share their experience with students to show them what it takes to be successful. After all, kids are our future.
JA’s business and economics programs are for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life. JA’s unique approach integrates program materials, trainings, and support. JA is the successful bridge between education and business.
To properly utilize our volunteers, JA staff will recruit classes from area schools, provide teaching materials (hands-on activities), conduct an orientation session, and provide ongoing service to all volunteers throughout the program.
Students - JA students demonstrate a significant understanding of economics and business concepts – particularly those who participate in programs at consecutive grade levels, as determined by independent evaluators.
Mentors - Volunteers serve as role models to help young people better understand economic concepts in order to become successful in the workplace and in life.
Investors - Business, foundations, and individuals support JA because it teaches students about economic and business and because JA’s positive impact is measurable.
Educators - Teachers welcome Junior Achievement’s resources because they enhance the learning environment and reinforce the classroom curricula.
Junior Achievement is currently seeking volunteers to teach programs in area classrooms during the school day as well as some afterschool programs. Our service area spans 27 counties in Missouri and 18 counties in Illinois.
