For nearly two decades, George Paz led Express Scripts as it became the nation's largest pharmacy benefit
manager through a business model of alignment that delivers better, more cost-effective health outcomes for millions of people. George joined Express Scripts in 1998 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and became President in 2003. In 2005 he was named Chief Executive Officer and the following year was elected Chairman of the Board. George retired from his role as Chief Executive Officer in 2016 and remains as Chairman.
Prior to joining Express Scripts, George was a partner at Coopers and Lybrand, LLP (now PwC ), and served as CFO and Executive Vice President for Life Partners Group, Inc.
George is very active in the community, serving as chairman of Logos School in St. Louis. He serves on the board of Barnes Jewish Hospital, as a trustee of Washington University in St. Louis, as a trustee for St. Louis University, and as a director on the board of the St. Louis Police Foundation. He is immediate past-president of Civic Progress, an organization of chief executives from more than 30 of the St. Louis region's leading employers who seek to leverage public and private resources to improve the region.
George holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Missouri -
St. Louis and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
