Laureate 2014

Since 1996, Michael Neidorff has served as Centene Corporation's president, chief executive officer, and board chairman. Through his leadership, Centene grew from serving thousands locally to millions of members across the United States and around the world. Michael Neidorff helped design and implement innovative Medicaid programs, and Centene is now the largest Medicaid managed-care institution in the country, with nearly 24 million members.

After earning a BA in Marketing from St. Francis University, Michael was hired by Miles Laboratories to work across Canada and the United States. After nearly 18 years, Michael gained the rich management, marketing, and enterprise experience required to grow Centene, a $40 million corporation, into a publicly traded healthcare enterprise.

In 2014, Michael Neidorff was inducted into the Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis's Hall of Fame. He serves on the board of trustees for many civic and arts organizations, including the Greater St. Louis Boy Scouts of America, as a life trustee for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and as a board member for Trinity University, his alma mater, in San Antonio, TX. He serves as treasurer of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts board of trustees and member of the International Committee on the Arts. Michael previously served the Kennedy Center as the vice chairman of its Fund Board, co-chair of the International Committee on the Arts, and chairman for its education committee.

Mr. Neidorff's philanthropic focuses have been local to St. Louis and wide-reaching across the U.S. In September of 2019, Michael was elected to chair the 2020 St. Louis Walk for Wishes event, a large fundraiser supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Selected as one of the "100 Most Influential People in Healthcare" by Modern Healthcare magazine in 2019, Mr. Neidorff lives in St. Louis with his wife, Noémi Neidorff.
